[Bug 713506] [NEW] XKB configuration with MacBookPro

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xorg

When I attempt to change the keyboard mapping to match the machine I'm
running it fails. This may be further complicated by running ubuntu on
virtualbox 3.2.12

gconftool yields:
 layouts = []
 options = []
 model = macbook78

xprop yields:

_XKB_RULES_NAMES_BACKUP(STRING) = "evdev", "pc105", "us", "mac", "lv3:ralt_switch"
_XKB_RULES_NAMES(STRING) = "evdev", "pc105", "us", "mac", "lv3:ralt_switch"
