Bitte richten Sie diese selbst ein.' > OK > X-Server neu starten > Die Anzeige wird neu gestartet.Bitte haben Sie etwas Geduld... > (After 10 min) > OK > X does not re-appear.
/var/log/syslog: "WARNING: GdmLocalDisplayFactory: maximum number of X display failures reached: check X server log for errors."
/var/log/Xorg.0.log.old: "(II) intel (0): No memory allocations. -- Fatal server error: Failed to submit batchbuffer: Input/Output error. Please consult The X.Org Foundation support at http://wiki.x.org for help."
The error messages are very similar to Launchpad error #555573.
As Launchpad error #555573 reported, this error occurs now and then randomly. 
I consider this bug a regression. It did not occur in Ubuntu 9.04 or earlier.
