Binary package hint: xorg

Sometimes the screen goes blank, and the message appears, that Ubuntu is now running with low graphic settings, and when I click ok, I have different choices to choose. I can run ubuntu with that low graphic settings or I can solve the problem, I can start the x server again..and something else..change to Terminal. 
If I choose solve the problem, I can view reports, which are forther in the process stored in $xorg_backup_file (never could find this file)
well it happens every now and then...mostly when I have the vlc-player running. I listen to music over it, so I don know ... when I watch films it never happend.

Only a restart makes ubuntu running again, all the the current data is
lost, and sometimes I could start the x server again, but it stays on
blank screen for more then half an hour, so I do a restart by pressing
the "Turn on" button at the computer. After restart all is fine!
