[Bug 745065] [NEW] Touchscreen not detected as multi-input

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-input-synaptics

System: HP Elitebook 2470p
Description:	Ubuntu Natty (development branch)
Release:	11.04
xserver-xorg-input-synaptics:
  Installed: 1.3.99+git20110116.0e27ce3a-0ubuntu8
  Candidate: 1.3.99+git20110116.0e27ce3a-0ubuntu8
  Version table:
 *** 1.3.99+git20110116.0e27ce3a-0ubuntu8 0
        500 http://ca.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ natty/main amd64 Packages
        500 http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ natty/main amd64 Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

Touchscreen is recognized and functional. However, multi-touch functionality not detected. Was working fine with earlier 10.04 alpha releases as well as within 10.10.

Expected: Two finger pinch, drag and right-clicking to work.
Actual: Only one finger interaction works

I'm unsure if the screen can handle input from three or more fingers.
