[Bug 759966] [NEW] i915 hdmi and vga output not working
Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel
I have a problem connecting an external monitor to my dell vostro 3700, with kubuntu 11.04 beta
When plugging a vga or hdmi cable, the kernel detects the new device and kde propose the configuration utility.
The external monitor is correctly detected and I can configure the monitor - however the monitor remains black and detects no input signal.
Without an xorg.conf and hdmi plugged in X starts with a wrong resolution (1024x768 isntead of 1600x900)
The size&orientation system settings applet says this is no multiple monitor setup.
So I created the attached xorg.conf but with no success, the external
monitor remains black. This Laptop has a hybrid GPU intel/nvidia.
I also tried to activate the monitor with xrandr but with no success.
