When watching video using mplayer2+vdpau, the video often times has stutters or appears jumpy or slow. I use compiz to redirect fullscreen because the nvidia drivers have problems with vdpau tearing. However, it often times causes the video to appear this way. I discovered the by either restart compiz with `compiz --replace` sometimes fixes the issue (at least temporarily or until reboot). If that doesn't work, than enabling/disabling the 'Copy to Texture' plugin for compiz. Although, I think this only works because it causes to compiz to restart.
When I was using Maverick, I didn't have nearly this much trouble.
