[Bug 402009] [NEW] XOrg fails to detect when monitors are turn on late in boot
Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: xorg
I believe this is a regression, as I don't remember this behavior from
the past, although I do not have a configuration to test. Running fglrx
(dual head) on Jaunty.
When booting with the monitors powered Xorg auto-detects that no
monitors are present. When the monitors are later turned on, X is not
informed, and no usable configuration is generated. Since DoNotZap is
set, user cannot kill GDM. In a standard desktop configuration, no
recovery is possible except for a hard reset.
If X fails to detect a usable configuration, it should retry.
** Affects: xorg (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
