[Bug 402777] [NEW] Monitor turns off on incorrect events
Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: xorg
I'm not quite aware of which package this should be reported against, so
I am reporting it again xorg in the hopes that someone will come along
and re-assign it properly. Thanks!
Ever since upgrading to Karmic, I've been having sporadic problems with
my monitor turning off at inappropriate times.
Test case:
Switching to a tty session, and then switching back to tty7. Immediately after, the monitor will blank. Moving the mouse will wake up the monitor again.
This is reproducible for me, every time.
I've also experienced it once or twice when I've accidentally let my
laptop power cord unplug. The switch from AC to battery power seems to
have triggered an event, and the monitor turned off.
The following events occur in my system log whenever the monitor turns off:
Jul 21 19:13:55 julian-4 acpid: client 3279[0:0] has disconnected
Jul 21 19:13:55 julian-4 acpid: client connected from 3279[0:0]
