[Bug 763001] Re: package fglrx (not installed) failed to install/upgrade: subprocess new pre-installation script returned error exit status 1
Sounds pretty messed up. Unfortunately the logs provided in this bug
report don't indicate any errors pertaining to fglrx.
I would probably just bag it and reinstall the system at this point.
Why not upgrade to maverick or natty? Can't be any more risky than
installing stuff from third party sites...
