[Bug 774168] [NEW] [Lenovo T410] using xrandr to set resolutions can leave system with no GUI

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xorg

Cert has a test that essentially finds the supported modes and then uses
xrandr to set each one in sequence to ensure they all work.

I successfully ran this before a suspend/resume cycle. After the
suspend/resume cycle, however, the xrandr cycle test is run again, and
the second time it failed.

It seemed to cycle through some of the resolutions, but it ended up
leaving the system with a plain black screen and only a mouse pointer.
No usable GUI at all.

To resolve this, I had to drop to a shell and kill X, forcing it to
restart.
