[Bug 777815] [NEW] [i915] Weird output after X starts

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel

After upgrading to Natty, I cannot boot without getting very odd output
from X. The text is wavy, blurry, and unreadable. This only happens in
kernels 2.6.38 and up and also happens if I boot a different Linux
distro using a kernel >= 2.6.38 (i.e. Fedora). I can use Unity under
2.6.35.

Here is a video of after I boot and then drop down into a terminal with
Ctl-Alt-F2:

I can run commands although I can't visibly see the output. I can only
understand what is happening if I know what sort of "shape" the output
text should look like.

Everything worked fine in Ubuntu 10.10. I cannot boot the live CD, nor
any other distro with Kernel 2.6.38 and greater.

What else can I do to help get a fix in for this bug?
