Hello!

I am facing the exact same problem on a HP 2730p (with an Intel 4500 graphics card).
Funny enough I ran through pretty much the same testing as  Philipp Grete (except the 11.10 kernel on 11.04; I also just came back from giving Fedora 15 a try with the same results).

Let me know if further infos are needed.
