[Bug 796201] [NEW] external screen misplaced/wrong resolution
Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel
The image on the second screen is misplaced and reports a wrong resolution (1400x1050 instead 1680x1050 [as configured and reported by ubuntu], see attached pictures).
The black bars to the left and bottom are areas where the mouse cannot be moved to.
Can be reproduced with
* 11.04: XFCE, Unity, Gnome2, Gnome2 failsafe
* two different external screens
* screens being plugged in before boot and after login
* mirrored, extended desktop and single external screen config
* xorg-edgers ppa
* Fedora 15
* Ubuntu 10.10
* Ubuntu 11.10 kernel on 11.04 installation
* with/without docking station
No problem with
* Ubuntu 10.04.1 stock configuration
* Windows XP SP3
