In Konsole, do:
wget http://ubuntu.linux-bg.org/ubuntu//pool/main/l/linux/linux-image-2.6.35-30-generic_2.6.35-30.54_i386.deb
sudo dpkg -i linux-image-2.6.35-30-generic_2.6.35-30.54_i386.deb
Then reboot and choose the older kernel.
You can also upgrade to a kernel from oneiric. You will have to find
it in packages.ubuntu.com, download it, install it and then download
and install the missing dependencies also from oneiric. I have tried
it, it works, but I found it simpler to use the older kernel just when
I want to watch movies through my tv screen.
