[Bug 867440] [NEW] no HDMI on hybrid graphics
Public bug reported:
I am following instructions as per http://linux-hybrid-graphics.blogspot.com/2011/08/problems-with-hdmi-in-hybrid-graphics.html
My laptop model is Asus U31SD with NVIDIA GeForce 420m (optimus) and intel i5-2410 CPU.
ironhide version 1.0-1~nattyubuntu37
I am using 11.04 64 bit, I followed the instructions found at http://linux-hybrid-graphics.blogspot.com, installation went well and I am able to use my discrete graphics via optirun. However if I plug in a HDMI monitor, the laptops screen will flash but the monitor is not detected at all by ubuntu (gnome monitor applet or xrandr)
I am able to detect the HDMI monitor by running "optirun nvidia-settings -c :8" which detects it as monitor-model (DFP-0 on GPU-0). However, the only available configuration is "separate X screen" which requires an X restart and overwriting xorg.conf, which will not work with ironhide. The nvidia utility is also unable to detect either the laptop screen or another monitor connected via VGA
connecting a monitor by VGA works fine.
