I have exactly the same problem. 
Sometimes I get the bug 237339, sometimes this one
 and sometimes the laptop resumes correctly (not often).

So it might be that the two bugs are related.
Note that I attached the requested files to the bug 237339.
I will send the requested files if bug 421736 occurs again.

The two bugs occured for me starting with my initial upgrade to karmic (back then
it was in early alpha state).
