Message #19978
[Bug 424407] [NEW] netbook remix : xserver-xorg-video-intel update crashes xserver
Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel
Computer : Asus eeepc 1005HA
Release : Ubuntu-9.04 Netbook Remix i386
After installation, the update manager proposes more than hundred updates. After this updates, a reboot was needed. So I rebooted, and X crashes. I didn't find any solution to fix it, so I had to install Ubuntu again.
I didn't note every error messages it gave, but there were such things :
"Ubuntu is running in low-graphics mode
(EE) GARTInit: Unable to open /dev/agpgart (No such file or directory)
(EE) intel (0): Couldn't allocate video memory."
After reinstall, I made the updates, but I unchecked xserver-xorg-video-intel, and everything went fine.
The version of the package the update installs is : 2:2.6.3-0ubuntu9.3
Hope it can help fix this problem.
Thanks for your work
