[Bug 417084] Re: touchpad does not work after upgrade
It might be a bios issue.
Please follow these steps:
Read where it says "Changing the Boot Option Configuration Line" so as to boot the live cd with a custom option
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BootOptions#Changing the Boot Option Configuration Line
and add the following options instead of the one in the example (which is vga=771):
hpet=force i8042.nopnp
if this doesn't work, try the following options:
i8042.reset i8042.nomux i8042.nopnp i8042.noloop
Let me know if it solves the problem
