Message #26218
[Bug 447518] [NEW] Cannot boot Karmic BETA on Intel 852GM
Public bug reported:
I can't boot the Karmic BETA live CD.
When I've selected "Try Ubuntu without any change to your computer" I see a message only displayed very briefly:
[ 5.048001] ..MP-BIOS bug: 8254 timer not connected to IO-APIC
Then the resolution change and the following message is displayed:
[ 5.642832] render error detected, EIR: 0x00000010
[ 5.642839] [drm:i915_handle_error] *ERROR* EIR stuck: 0x0000000010, masking
[ 5.642858] render error detected, EIR: 0x0000000010
Nothing happens after this. The numbers [5.642858] seems to have changed
when I reboot.
I know this is old hardware and my not be top priority.
Toshiba Sattelite A30, Intel® 852GM, Mobile Intel® Celeron® 2.60 GHz
BTW, not sure if this is the right package.
** Affects: xorg-server (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
