[Bug 450669] [NEW] Xorg freeze (Radeon Xpress 200)

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-ati

After running for a few minutes (amount of time varies, sometimes 5
minutes after login, sometimes an hour), X freezes and becomes
unresponsive. Often the mouse pointer still responds to movement but
cannot select anything. It is possible to SSH in from a remote machine
and see that Xorg is using 100% CPU.
