Hi,

Okay I download the Karmic Koala 9.10 Daily Build from today, 14. October. 
Everything works fine here, I have gnome running from the Live CD. Actually I writing this from the Live Session.

The screen still is black shortly after the ubuntu boot logo, but this looks normal to me.
Sorry for the inconvenience. I think this bug is closeable.
