[Bug 465671] [NEW] 9.10 Live fails with dual monitor setup on a nVidia GeForce 7600 GS (nv driver)

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-nv

Booting the Live "CD" from an USB stick, it works when i have only a
single monitor. With both monitors connected it shows garbage (blinking
patterns one screen, single color on the other).

I have an good image on both screens ("mirrored" mode) at the beginning
when the white pulsating Ubuntu logo is displayed. As soon as it changes
too the next screen that looks like a progress bar it displays the
garbage instead. The pattern seems to change later so that i assume that
it loads the desktop.

Switching to the text console works. I can use the shell on one screen
as expected. The second screen is mirroring the contents with some delay
and the cursor is blinking at an other place. Switching back to ALT+F7
shows the garbage again. Switching to the text console works repeatedly.

** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-nv (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
