[Bug 478533] [NEW] OpenGL applications and games behave strangely
Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-radeon
Some OpenGL applications do segfault on startup:
-Blender
Some applications display white textures:
- Neverball
- Neverputt
Some OpenGL applications print warning messages:
- lxgears
*********************************WARN_ONCE*********************************
File radeon_tcl.c function radeon_run_tcl_render line 499
Rendering was 79 commands larger than predicted size. We might overflow command buffer.
***************************************************************************
Screensavers with OpenGL do not display at all and print strange errors:
gears: malloc.c:3074: sYSMALLOc: Assertion `(old_top == (((mbinptr) (((char *) &((av)->bins[((1) - 1) * 2])) - __builtin_offsetof (struct malloc_chunk, fd)))) && old_size == 0) || ((unsigned long) (old_size) >= (unsigned long)((((__builtin_offsetof (struct malloc_chunk, fd_nextsize))+((2 * (sizeof(size_t))) - 1)) & ~((2 * (sizeof(size_t))) - 1))) && ((old_top)->size & 0x1) && ((unsigned long)old_end & pagemask) == 0)' failed.
Aborted
This errors are new with 9.10 (Karmic Koala), and ware not present in
the last release 9.04 (Jaunty Jackalope).
My graphic card is a Radeon Mobility 7500 and I use the radeon driver.
The version of the driver is 1:6.12.99+git20090929.7968e1fb-0ubuntu1.
