[Bug 267269] Re: system GUI turn upside down when visual effects changed from none to normal
My Dell GX620 with an Intel Corporation 82945G/GZ Integrated Graphics
Controller (rev 02) is running Ubuntu 9.10 LTSP Client. The LTSP LDM
logon screen comes up fine when I allow X to automatically select and
configure the driver. However, when I logon - which starts a remote X
session to the host computer - the text and images that make up the GUI
are flipped upside down.
To be more exact. The icons, characters, and background image are all
flipped 180 degrees along the X (left to right) axis. The horizontal
menu item relationships and the order of characters in the menu labels
are correct. The vertical menu items are displayed in reverse order
although functionally they work as if they were displayed correctly.
For example, second menu item listed under Applications is System Tools
(with upside down letters), but when you place the mouse pointer over
the second menu item under Applications the Games menu appears. When
you place the mouse pointer over the next to last menu item under
Applications the System Tools menu appears.
