Hello

I created a xorg.conf file in my /etc/X11/ directory.

Then I copied and pasted the xorg.conf text from ajgreeney's comment
into my new xorg.conf file, and saved my xorg.conf file.


Now desktop effects seem to work fine in both GNOME and KDE, and I don't get a black background when desktop effects are enabled.
