[Bug 482715] [NEW] disabling modesetting with dirver intel makes the mouse pointer disappear in gnome
Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel
Because of bug #462939, I have to disable modesetting using passing with
grub the option "nomodeset" for the kernel. If this is a workaround for
bug #462939, it has some weird side effects, among them the fact that
_after_ the logging, when I end up to the Gnome desktop, my mouse
pointer is invisible (but exists, one can see icons being selected
a.s.o.).
The cursor is visible during the logging. So I do not really know if the
bug is intel driver or gnome...
If I switch to a TTY and back to TTY7, then the pointer is visible
again.
If I remove the nomodeset option, then pointer is always there.
This bug is not a major bug, since switching to TTY and back to desktop does the trick and because if #462939 is fixed, then it will disappear, it is a little bit annoying.
