[Bug 419196] Re: Backslash key inoperative in spanish eee PC
I have the same issue with a Cherry keyboard attached to an atom based
ubuntu 9.04 box, via a compaq kvm. A NetBSD box attached via the same
kvm doesn't have an issue - it detects the key no problem. The ubuntu
box doesn't detect the key at the X level - if I run xev I get no output
when I press the key.
On NetBSD I get:
KeyPress event, serial 28, synthetic NO, window 0x1a00001,
root 0x40, subw 0x0, time 295722623, (41,76), root:(1040,448),
state 0x0, keycode 94 (keysym 0x3c, less), same_screen YES,
XLookupString gives 1 bytes: (3c) "<"
XmbLookupString gives 1 bytes: (3c) "<"
XFilterEvent returns: False
(the keyboard map is not setup, but you can see the keycode generated).
Obviously this is a major PITA as I can't PIPE anything.
