I'm using Ubuntu 9.04. While browsing or reading email (firefox and thunderbird), the X server started to display some characters and images (in firefox) wrongly. After a short time the complete system crashes. It is not possible to log in remotely with ssh or to switch to virtual terminals (with Ctrl+Alt+F1). My laptop is a HP EliteBook 6930p described here: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/LaptopTestingTeam/HPCompaq6930p/Intel with Mobile Intel GMA 4500MHD video card. 
It is the second time I have this problem.
