Binary package hint: xorg

The background picture seems stuck half-way between transitions. The
previous background seems like it's been merged with the next! (see
attached pic)

My background is the auto-changing one from the defaults that comes with Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic:
/usr/share/backgrounds/cosmos/background-1.xml
I really like it since I accidentally found out it automatically changes every few minutes (and wish there was an Ubuntu program to make more).

I'm not sure when it happened, as I've had the PC on for most of the day
(not sure if that would do anything), but with programs covering the
background.

The only other weird thing that happened that I wonder might be related
is that so far today the computer never went to the screensaver and
didn't even blank the screen when I was away for long periods of time.
I've been trying out MoinMoin wiki from a flash drive, but that's the
only thing that I haven't done before... I wonder could that program
mess up the background?

P.S. Am I supposed to file a bug even when it's the first time it
