Message #36586
[Bug 491096] [NEW] Unreadable graphics in second X session
Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel
This problem occurs in Kubuntu Karmic.
There are 2 ways to get the same result:
- open a remote X session using xdmcp from a second computer
- open a windows using krdc from a second computer to tightvnc. tightvnc configured to start a new session using xinet
In both cases the kdm greeter appears, in the right proportions, however
in the background some giant white text seems to be present.
Logging in, the desktop looks fine however fonts in the Kickoff starter
are invisible, and programs once started have scrambled title bars.
The same happens in Debian squeeze (currently) with intel video.
However, configuration of krdc, tightvnc etc. seems to be fine as other
machines with different video present no problems.
Note that opening a second X session on the same machine works fine.
I don't know where to find the log of the malfunctioning session, but
can find the log of the primary session, and config files. Let me know
what is needed.
Thanks,
Ferry
