[Bug 497752] [NEW] xorg freezes when using Openoffice

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xorg

My system runs fine whenever I don't use openoffice. Once I start to use
it, xorg freezes. The mouse pointer moves, but delayed. No button
response. Caps-lock led does not come on when pressing caps-lock.
Ctrl+Alt+backspace does not restart X. Ctrl+Alt+F1 does not take me to a
console.

This whole problem did not occur when I used Ubuntu 6.06. After I
upgraded to 8.04 the problems started. A fresh install of ubuntu 8.10
reduced the number of freezes dramatically. But they still occur.

The problem may be related to bug 493267.
