Zotac IONITX-A-U:     DVI-D     (DIGITAL ONLY)
ASUS EN8400GS:    DVI-I       (DIGITAL and ANALOG)

So I have a digital-only DVI port on the motherboard in question.
Now I guess I need to purchase some sort of Digital-to-Analog converter.

Would this explain my symptoms?
