[Bug 498646] [NEW] package nvidia-glx-96 (not installed) failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-removal script returned error exit status 2

Public bug reported:

The package was installed through synaptic but failed and crashed the graphics environment. It has taken out deleted the xserver . Which Xserver was reinstalled through apt. Please enable the provision in options as it was there in ubuntu 9.04 ...reverting back the graphics so that normal user doesn't feel so much of problem. And, if Nvidia fails then it should revert back to Xserver automatically such a provision is required
Thanks,
