[Bug 504786] [NEW] DRI not working on ATI 3D Rage Pro 215GP

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-mach64

$ lspci | grep Rage
02:0c.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc 3D Rage Pro 215GP (rev 5c)

The first problem i noticed is (from Xorg.0.log)
(II) MACH64(0): Using Mach64 accelerator CRTC.
(II) MACH64(0): Storing hardware cursor image at 0xFD3FFC00.
(II) MACH64(0): Using 8 MB linear aperture at 0xFD000000.
(!!) MACH64(0): Virtual resolutions will be limited to 4095 kB
 due to linear aperture size and/or placement of hardware cursor image area.
(WW) MACH64(0): Cannot shadow an accelerated frame buffer.

I don't know why aperture size is limited. Any idea?

Anyway, 4095 kB should be enough for 800x600 at 16bit of depth, so I
write this resolution on xorg.conf and it goes on, but...

drmOpenDevice: node name is /dev/dri/card0
drmOpenDevice: node name is /dev/dri/card0
[drm] failed to load kernel module "mach64"
(EE) [drm] drmOpen failed.
(EE) MACH64(0): [dri] DRIScreenInit Failed

So:
(II) MACH64(0): Direct rendering disabled

I don't have any "mach64.ko" or similar on my system, but xserver-xorg-
video-mach64 is obviously installed.

$ locate mach64
/usr/lib/directfb-1.2-0/gfxdrivers/libdirectfb_mach64.so
/usr/lib/dri/mach64_dri.so
/usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers/mach64_drv.so
[...] (nothing useful, only doc and a mach64.h in kernel source package)

The video card works well, but there's no way to enable DRI.
