Message #44719
[Bug 521589] [NEW] monitor turns off and on repeatedly using default ati drivers
Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-ati
During ubuntu install and in X, my display periodically goes black for a
few seconds, as if power saving is kicking in. It turns itself right
back on, but this happens at pseudo-random intervals, usually about a
minute or so apart, but sometimes two or three times in quick
succession.
The problem went away as soon as I installed the proprietary AMD
drivers.
This may be related to these bugs: 387013,225863
lspci says this is my video card:
01:05.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc Radeon HD 3200 Graphics
The Xorg log from before I switched to proprietary ATI drivers is
attached.
** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-ati (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
