Message #45840
[Bug 525446] [NEW] typing () followed by enter causes x.org to hang
Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: xserver-xorg
Running lucid with 2.6.31 karmic kernel on lenovo sl300, (higher gives me suspend problems)
xorg-edgers intel driver
Very odd, I'm not an idiot, I swear. I was trying to type "class
wut(1): " in a python interpreter, hit enter, and X hung. Then I kept
rebooting and trying it with ":", worked fine. "):" fine, "1):" fine,
"(1):" broken, "(1)" broken, "(1" fine. "()" broken. I don't even know
how this is possible. Tried it with multiple kernels, and all of a
sudden it's not happening after 5 or so reboots. I couldn't switch to a
VT or restart without holding the power button, yet system was actually
not hung (saw sparse disk i/o) , just X server.
Works fine in any VT.
I'm also running xorg-edgers intel driver...
My speculation is some weird problem with the xorg keyboard driver?
