I do not know when this problem started, unfortunately - it could have been a recent upload or one a while ago.

Basically gdm would switch the LCD to a blank screen.

I managed to boot the system into text mode, and try starting X manually
and the same thing would happen.

I am able to, using the xorg.conf.failsafe configuration get X working.
But that is 1024x768 with the Vesa driver rather than the native
resolution of the LCD (1280x800).

Running X (with the Intel) driver switches the screen to black and none
of the key on the laptop respond any longer, I'm at a loss as to how to
debug this.

Any suggestions appreciated.
