This is a problem for me as well; I'm posting from a 640x480 sized
screen with a fair amount of interference. The resolution cannot be
changed through the nvidia x server configuration settings, which gives
the message:

Failed to query NoScanout for screen 0.

This comes as a result of an apt-get update; apt-get dist-upgrade
performed at 09:56 GMT, Tue 23rd Feb.
