[Bug 529077] [NEW] Ubuntu splash screen hangs while booting

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel

I have to drop to the console every time I boot because X hangs showing
the Ubuntu logo and the mouse pointer spinning. In order to see the GDM
I have to hit ctrl+alt+F7. To see the desktop fully loaded I have to
drop to the console once again and repeat ctrl+alt+F7.
