themusicalduck: Have you tried enabling the "Enable mouse clicks clicks
with touchpad" option in the mouse configuration applet? (system -
preferences - mouse). Your logs show synaptics getting loaded correctly
and such so its most likely just a local configuration problem. During
the karmic beta cycle tap to click was defaulted to off in gnome-
settings-daemon but I believe it was changed back to default on just
before release.

Carobu: Please open a new bug with your problem, it is most likely not
related since the original reporter has no problems using the mouse and
just has problems with the tap to click feature.
