Binary package hint: xorg

I've got a problem with intense flickering on the screen. The laptop
works perfectly on ubuntu karmic, but not in lucid. The flickering is
not ver the entire screen, but on individual applications. Right now
firefox is stable, but the terminal flickers along with the cursor.
Other times it manifests itself by flashing firefox, flashing the panel,
flashing the tems in the toolbar etc.

To top it off, the keyboard is really slugish, and the first letter
entered often disappear.
