Public bug reported:

I wanted to test the nouveau driver on my Nvidia 6600 GT card, but it
failed during X startup (bug 533642).

I was told to remove nvidia-current, and when trying this, I'm getting a
blank screen (display turns off) during boot (even before being asked
for the cryptsetup passphrase.

The system appears to work fine otherwise: I can even login to KDE, but
even then, the screen is off. Switching forth and back to another VT
does not help either.

If I reinstall nvidia-current, boot works fine again.

Maybe bug 534636 is causing this (glxinfo crashing)?
