Binary package hint: xorg

I installed Ubuntu 9.10 from scratch on a Dell Precision M6500 and
everything went well, except that I've noticed a couple of display
problems.

1) Some graphics are corrupted, notably the profile pictures under Skype
(see attached screenshot), and even some elements on this very page I'm
using to report this bug.

2) When I connect a second monitor, I am unable to move windows over to
the laptop's display. There seems to be an invisible boundary about one-
third into the laptop's monitor, beyond which the application window
will not move.
