[Bug 543220] Re: TV display cycles out of sync - C51PV [GeForce 6150]
** Description changed:
Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-nouveau
- I've got a GeForce 6150 attached to a TV. After upgrading to Lucid, the
- screen flickers and looks like it's lost its horizontal sync.
+ I've got a GeForce 6150 attached to a TV using RGB component video
+ cables to a receiver, and from the receiver to the TV. After upgrading
+ to Lucid, the screen flaps up and down as if it's lost its vertical
+ sync.
- BIOS and grub display okay, but once the boot gets to plymouth it starts with the screen cycling.

+ BIOS and grub display okay, but once the boot gets to plymouth it starts
+ with the screen cycling. I tried changing to other resolutions but all
+ cycle exactly the same. Tried -vesa, -fbdev, and -nv, none of which
+ worked. I notice it is not detecting the physical dimensions for the
+ TV-1 output (0mm x 0mm), but I'm not sure if that's relevant.
+
+ I also tried connecting a DVI-D cable to the TV directly. This worked
+ somewhat better but still flickered and the fonts seemed weirdly
+ stretched.
+
+ I tested booting an older 2.6.28 kernel, and this seemed to work better
+ in that there was no flickering and the picture was the right
+ resolution. However, it seems to have gotten stuck on the plymouth
+ screen. So something's still not quite right.
