Message #55532
[Bug 544836] [NEW] Slow boot performance
Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: xorg
I'm not certain xorg is to blame for this, but I needed some place to
start. So, after having entered my password in gdm, I'm left with just
the Ubuntu desktop background for approx 20 s, before the top menu shows
up. During that time my hard drive is idle.
This makes boot performance worse than Karmic, where this delay did not
exist (or possibly just a few seconds).
But still I assume it's better than Windows Vista ;-)
