Message #56176
[Bug 546043] [NEW] [xorg-edgers] nouveau 3D not available in kernel 2.6.32-17
Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: xorg
With the upgrade from kernel 2.6.32-16 to 2.6.32-17, 3D stopped working.
In .17, many games crash and compiz launches the fallback window
manager. When I boot into .16, everything works like normal.
I think this is a packaging bug. The package "linux-backports-modules-
nouveau-2.6.32-17-generic" is not installed on my system. It is supposed
to be installed by meta-package "linux-backports-modules-nouveau-
generic", but that package does not exist. I will install "linux-
backports-modules-nouveau-2.6.32-17-generic" and report back if this
fixes it.
