[Bug 547169] [NEW] Screen goes black when unattended and does not return

I have a recurring problem on Lucid - reproducible two different
computers.
I lock my screen or/and leave my computer unattended. The screen goes
black or displays "Out of range" and does not come back to the desktop,
or to the password prompt when I move my mouse or type on the keyboard.
I still have ssh access to the box.
These computers are not are set to suspend, and even if they were to
suspend I would not be able to access them through ssh. I believe this
is an issue with gnome-screensaver, gnome-power-manager or xorg.
