Binary package hint: xorg

Whenever I try to enable desktop effects the computer tries for a while
all the windows blink a bit then a window pops up saying desktop effects
could not be enabled.   When I click ok nothing happens the windows just
sit there until i force them shut

the computer is a lenovo w500 with both ATi 3650 and an Intel video
card.  I get the same result of desktop effects could not be enabled
with both cards.  This worked in 9.10
