[Bug 554777] [NEW] Unable to activate HDMI second display but VGA works

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-ati

Not sure if this is kernel or X related but I am not able to activate my
second display connected via HDMI. It worked under Karmic with the
radeonhd driver, but does not in Lucid with the ati driver (I cannot
seem to get to the gdm login screen with the radeonhd driver in Lucid).
The HDMI connected Dell display seems to be getting turned off or put
into power saving mode.
