[Bug 555541] [NEW] xorg breaks with multiple monitors
Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-ati
Using Ubuntu Lucid (Beta, I know)
Everything seems fine on the LVDS, but plugging in an external VGA
monitor yields (at best) a wavy image on the secondary monitor. Up until
recently, the xserver performance was at least stable, but when I tried
it tonight, X threw tons of errors. I checked the log and there were a
bunch of issues with modelines, but nothing that stood out to me (I'm
not to familiar with X's log).
Eventually, X crashed. it is completely unusable on any dual monitor
configuration. About two weeks ago, it was actually working perfectly (a
small but significant improvement over Karmic).
I have an MSI Wind, U210 with a Radeon x1250
Oh, and I tried the "ubuntu-bug" report but it was just after I upgraded
my packages to the xorg-edgers repository, to see if I could improve the
situation right now, so it failed.
** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-ati (Ubuntu)
